Élivo produces non-alcoholic wines in Pontevedra, Spain with a focus on delicate dealcoholization and aroma recovery. Cardio Zero Red is a non-alcoholic blend of Mencía, Tempranillo and Garnacha grape varieties. The grapes, chosen for their high phenolic content, are cultivated under water stress conditions and macerated with an emphasis on preserving the phenolic compounds before low-temperature dealcoholization.
Polyphenols are naturally occurring, antioxidant-rich compounds that can support cardiovascular health. We can’t say the phenolic content is a cardio replacement, per se, but some days are just better fit for sipping. Or, do both–the stuff is hangover proof, after all.
Élivo recommends pairing this lively red alongside cold cuts, cheese, and meat.
