Pentire hails from the coastline of southwest England, in North Cornwall. Pentire Seaward is a botanical, non-alcoholic spirit made from unique plants native to the region. The expression boasts a zesty character and citrusy aromas. The top notes of grapefruit are grounded by a Pentire plant blend full of green notes, sea buckthorn, and wild seaweed.

How To Enjoy

I used this for a gin gimlet recipe and it was a great replacement! The seaweed notes were great and brought a savory twist to the spirit. Will definitely buy again and will try with a soda mixer and lime.

Pentire Seward gives you exactly what it claims on the bottle - gentle notes of grapefruit are perfectly balanced with sea herb salinity. The resultant spirit is wholly unique as an alcohol replacement in cocktails, and is pleasantly sippable over ice. I managed to finish a bottle in just a few days by mixing seltzer, Seaward, and a splash of fresh grapefruit juice, but I could see this being elevated even further with an herbal infused simple syrup and a spiced bitters.

The “sea” character is quite forward; it’s both savory and citrusy. This does well in a g&t or a bees knees, but the savory character is something I personally don’t care for. I prefer gin-like spirits that are more juniper forward.
